Levitra (Vardenafil) 10mg



Levitra contains vardenafil, which belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. They are used to treat erectile dysfunction in adult men-state, which is characterized by difficulty in obtaining or maintaining an erection.

What is Levitra and what is it used for?

Levitra contains vardenafil, which belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. They are used to treat erectile dysfunction in adult men-state, which is characterized by difficulty in obtaining or maintaining an erection.

At least one in ten men has trouble getting or keeping an erection. The reasons for this can be physical or psychological, or a combination of both. Whatever the reason, the result of changes in the muscles and blood vessels there is not enough blood in the penis to obtain and maintain an erection.

Levitra will only work when you are sexually stimulated. Reduces the action of a naturally occurring substance in your body which makes erections. Levitra allows an erection to last long enough for you to satisfactorily complete sexual activity.

2 What you should know before taking Levitra

Do not take Levitra

– If you are allergic to vardenafil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in Section 6). Signs of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling of face or lips and shortness of breath.

– If you are taking medicines containing nitrates, such as glycerol trinitrate for angina (angina) or drugs that release nitric oxide, such as amyl nitrite. Taking these medicines with Levitra blood pressure can significantly affect.

– If taking ritonavir or indinavir, medicines used in the treatment of infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

– If you are over 75 years and are taking ketoconazole or itraconazole, anti-fungal drugs.

– If you have a severe heart or liver problem

– If you are on kidney dialysis

– If you have recently had a stroke or heart attack

– If you have or have had low blood pressure

– If you have a family history of degenerative eye diseases (such as retinitis pigmentosa)

– If you have ever had a condition involving loss of vision due to damage to the optic nerve from insufficient blood supply known as non-arteritic ischemic optic NEUROPATHY (NAION).

Warnings and Precautions

Talk to your doctor before taking Levitra.

Take special care with Levitra

– If you have heart disease. It may be risky for you if you have sex

– If you suffer from irregular heart beat (cardiac arrythmia) or inherited heart diseases affecting your electrocardiogram

– If you have anatomical deformation of the penis. This includes conditions called angulation, Peyronie’s disease and cavernosal fibrosis

– If you have an illness that can cause erections which will not go away (priapism). These include sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma and leukemia

– If you have stomach ulcers (. Called. Gastric or peptic ulcers)

– If you have a bleeding disorder (such as haemophilia)

– If you are using any other treatments for erection difficulties, eg. all inhibitors of PDE5, including tablets Levitra (see. section “Other medicines and Levitra”).

– If you experience sudden decrease or loss of vision, stop taking Levitra and contact your doctor.

Children and adolescents

Levitra is not for use by children or adolescents under 18 years of age.

Other medicines and Levitra

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or have recently used it is possible to use other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. Some medicines can cause problems, especially these:

– Nitrates, medicines for angina (angina) or drugs that release nitric oxide, such as amyl nitrite. Taking these medicines with Levitra blood pressure can significantly affect. Consult your doctor before taking Levitra.

– Drugs for treatment of arrhythmia, such as quinidine, procainamide, amiodarone or sotalol.

– Ritonavir or indinavir, medicines for HIV. Consult your doctor before taking Levitra.

– Ketoconazole or itraconazole, anti-fungal medicines.

– Erythromycin or clarithromycin, macrolide antibiotics

– Alpha-blockers – type drugs used to treat high blood pressure and enlargement of the prostate (such as benign prostatic hyperplasia).

No use Levitra tablets, orodispersible, in combination with any other agents for treating erektila dysfunction, e.g., all inhibitors of PDE 5, including Levitra tablets.

Levitra with food and drink

– You can take Levitra orodispersible tablets in the mouth with or without food, but do not take this medicine with liquids.

– Do not drink grapefruit juice when taking Levitra. It can interfere with the usual effect of the drug

– Alcoholic drink can make erection difficulties worse. Pregnancy and lactation

Levitra is not for use by women.

Driving and using machines

Levitra may cause dizziness in some people and affect their vision. If you experience dizziness or vision changes after taking Levitra, do not drive or operate machinery.

Important information about some of the ingredients of Levitra 10 mg tablets, orodispersible:

– Aspartamat a source of phenylalanine. May be harmful for people with phenylketonuria.

– Sorbitol: if your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this product.

3 How to take tablets Levitra orodispersible?

Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist. The recommended dose is 10 mg.

Take a Levitra tablet about 25 to 60 minutes before sexual intercourse. With sexual stimulation you may achieve an erection anywhere from 25 minutes to four – five hours after taking Levitra.

– Remove the orodispersible tablet from the blister immediately before you swallow it. With dry hands, pull the edge of the blister cardboard pocket and gently press the top to remove the tablet in his hand. Do not crush the tablet.

– Place all orodispersible tablet on the tongue, where it will melt in a few seconds. Then swallow with saliva. Orodispersible tablet should be taken with liquids.

Do not take Levitra orodispersible tablets in the mouth, along with some other form of Levitra.

Do not take Levitra more than once a day.

Tell your doctor if you think Levitra is too strong or too weak. He or she may suggest a different form of Levitra with different dose, depending on what effect you have on.

If you take more Levitra dose

Men who take too much Levitra, may experience more side effects or may get severe back pain. If you take more Levitra than with your doctor.

4 Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Most of them are mild or moderate.

Some patients Partial, sudden, temporary or permanent decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes. Stop taking Levitra and immediately contact your doctor.

Sudden decrease or loss of hearing.

Likelihood of getting a side effect is described by the following categories:

Very common:

– May affect more than 10 users

– Headache


– May affect up to 1 in 10 people

– Vertigo

– Flushing

– Blocked or runny nose

– Indigestion


– May affect up to 1 in 100 users

– Swelling of the skin and mucous membranes, including swelling of the face, lips or throat.

– Sleep Disorders

– Numbness and impaired sensation of touch

– Sleepiness

– Changes in vision, eye redness, change in color vision, pain and discomfort in the eyes, sensitivity to light

– Ringing in the ears, dizziness

– Increased heart rate, palpitations

– Shortness of breath

– Stuffy nose

– HEARTBURN, gastritis, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting; malaise (nausea), dry mouth

– Elevated levels of liver enzymes in the blood

– Rash, redness of the skin

– Pain in the back or muscles, increasing blood muscle enzyme (creatine phosphokinase), muscle stiffness

– Prolonged erections

– Malaise


– May affect up to 1 in 1000 users

– Inflammation of the eye (conjunctivitis)

– Allergic reaction

– Anxiety

– Fainting

– Amnesia

– Seizure

– Increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma), increased lacrimation

– Effects on the heart (such as heart attack, abnormal heart rhythms or angina)

– High or low blood pressure

– Bleeding from the nose

– Effect on the results of blood tests to monitor liver function

– Sensitivity of the skin to sunlight

– Painful erection

– Chest Pain

Very rare or not known: may affect less than 1 in 10,000 people

– Blood in the urine (hematuria)

– Bleeding in the penis (penile haemorrhage)

– Presence of blood in the semen (hemospermiya)

If any of the side effects gets serious, or you notice other effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor.

5 How to store Levitra?

Keep out of reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton after “EXP”. Expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Store in the original package to protect from light and moisture.

Do not dispose of medications in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

What contain orodispersible tablets Levitra?

– The active substance is vardenafil. Each orodispersible tablet contains 10 mg of vardenafil (as hydrochloride).

– The other ingredients are magnesium stearate, aspartame (E951), flavor of mint, mannitol (E421), sorbitol (E420), crospovidone and colloidal silica hydrated.
